SUITABLE FOR FRAMING          by Sarah B. Leonard

“Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs!”

Abby’s face appeared on the video phone in Ducky’s office. “Are you hiding down there?”

“I’m not hiding, Abs. I’m working.” Gibbs moved over to the phone. “Got something for me?”

“Well, not on the case but you need to come here now.”

Abby flicked off the video, obviously trying to get the Team Leader to hurry over to her lab.

“I’ll be back, Duck.”

Gibbs waved a hand at Ducky, who immediately went back to carrying on a serious discussion with the recently terminated corpse he was about to examine.

Grabbing a Caf-Pow! on his way to Abby’s lab, he motored through the glass doors and quickly changed course over to the volume control, flicking off the floor-shaking racket so he would be able to hear what Abby had to tell him. She grabbed the drink with one hand and started slurping while pointing furiously at one of the computer screens.

‘G I B B S’ appeared across the screen in bright red letters. Then ‘G I B B S’ flashed for a few seconds, now in a bright glaring purple font. ‘G I B B S’ then morphed into shimmering acid green gothic letters.

Gibbs moved closer to the screen. The last of his name faded away. A small flickering light appeared in one corner of the screen, slowly growing bigger until he realized it was a little blonde winged fairy, very similar to a famous fairy of Peter Pan renown. Oddly, though, instead of a magic wand, this one carried what appeared to be a black leather riding crop with a purple handle.  Her path across the screen was erratic. Her flicker was slowly fading. Even if Gibbs hadn’t known immediately what it all meant, he would have known the fairy was not well. As she landed at the bottom of the screen and appeared to pass out, the screen faded to a peachy golden tone. A large hand suddenly appeared, then disappeared, leaving a red hand print that increased in color, then also faded away.

‘G I B B S’ appeared across the screen again, in bright red. The whole message repeated itself.

“It’s some kind of weird virus, Gibbs.” Abby stopped slurping for a moment. “Although it’s not taking over or anything, or growing or replicating. I can make it go away, but I thought maybe it would mean something to you?”

“Yeah, Abs. Thanks. You can get rid of it.”

“Do you want me to trace where it came from?”

Gibbs had already left the lab.

“Faster than a speeding bullet.”

Abby looked over at Bert as she spoke. Although perhaps no one else would have known, Abby knew the hippo agreed with her.

“DiNozzo!” Gibbs yelled across the bull pen as the elevator door opened.

“Yeah, Boss?”

Gibbs didn’t say anything, just jerked his head toward the elevator. DiNozzo trotted on in as the doors were already beginning to close. He still didn’t say anything as the elevator doors opened again, this time next to the van that either Mr. Palmer or Ducky drove to a crime scene.

Gibbs opened the back doors and jerked his head at his agent again.

“Uh, inside?” asked DiNozzo.

Gibbs just glared in functional mute mode then followed as DiNozzo clambered inside. Gibbs lowered the legs of the gurney to the shortest level, just barely off the floor of the van. Spinning around his confused agent, he sat on the white surface, then slapped his hands down onto his own lap.

“Boss?” Tony, bent over under the roof of the van, sat next to him. Quarters were tight, but they could move around a bit now that the gurney was beneath them. Gibbs reached around him and shut the doors.

“Not next to me. On my lap.”

“Boss?”

“It’s the fairy, DiNozzo. I just got a message.”

“You got a message from a fairy?”

“Yeah. I need to leave a hand print somewhere and I know just the perfect place.”

He grabbed Tony’s tie and pulled him close for a rough kiss. When he felt DiNozzo melting, he backed off and slid the puddling agent face down across his outstretched legs.

“Let me see your bare ass. Now, DiNozzo.”

Tony scrambled, awkwardly, as the position didn’t leave him much room. But he managed to reach beneath him and undo his belt and zipper, then squirmed around a bit as he pushed off his pants and bared his ass to his boss. No – not his boss. His lover.

Gibbs truly appreciated the sight of it. Kind of a peachy golden color, clenching just a little bit - in apprehension? Anticipation? His right hand softly petted the light coating of invisible hairs, making Tony moan at the gentle touch of his hand.

He smacked his open palm down hard, listening to the sound echo in the metallic confines of the van. Tony jerked beneath him in response. The red hand print appeared, marring the perfect surface. Gibbs wished he’d told DiNozzo to bring along his digital camera. That sight was good enough to be framed.

He aimed and struck again at the exact spot. The print darkened. Several times in succession he hit the identical area. The hand print remained perfect, changing slowly to a much deeper red hue.

“Damn, DiNozzo. That looks so good on you.  Bring your camera home tonight.”

“What?”

“Your digital camera. I need a picture of that, in the guest room that’s no longer a guest room.”

“Right, Boss. But will it last?”

Gibbs smacked him a few more times, until Tony just had to grab tightly onto the gurney beneath them.

“I can always freshen it up.”

“Somehow,” Tony sighed, “I knew you’d say that.”

“So why didn’t you send that email to my computer?”

Tony looked back over his shoulder at Gibbs, who was now running his index finger along the print that he had made.

“What e-mail?”

“The one you sent to Abby’s computer.”

“I didn’t send any e-mail to Abby, Boss. What are you talking about?”

Gibbs was still stroking his ass and the throbbing combined with the gentle petting, was just about driving Tony insane.

“You didn’t? I was sure it was from you – a dying fairy, like Tinkerbell. And a big red hand print across a bubble butt just like yours.”

“Not me, Boss, although I can appreciate the sentiment.”

“Well, if it wasn’t from you, where’d it come from?”

Upstairs in her lab, Abby could be heard talking to Bert.

“I found where that e-mail originated from but it’s kinda hinky. Bert, d’you know anyone who lives in London?”

LOL *coughing and trying to get my breath back* Hmm I just discovered that laughing and coughing at the same time is very good for ones breathing ;)

I love the description of the fairy :) And Gibbs reaction to it! :D That was just great :D Any chance you will follow it up with what happens that night??? ;P

Sheesh - I thought that by now you would know these had to be read while NOT eating and/or drinking and/or coughing and/or breathing!!! I've been writing so much goofiness that I suspect I will put "Warning: Serious fic" if I ever finish that one. (My muse is pouting over that one - 11,000 words and she claims she can't catch any more bunnies!!! I may have to go hunting with a great big bunnie net.)

Ps. You are soooo greedy. I LOVE IT!!! I will see how it goes... (sighs heavily)

Well I remembered not to eat or drink this time, and I can't really help the coughing, cause I have a cold... which means I'm spending the day in front of my computer reading ff, so it's not all bad ;)
And sorry, but I do need to breath sometimes;)

Your muse should get it together ;) 11,000 (if I remember correctly that's eleven thousand in the US right?) words isn't that much ;) ;) But I'm really looking forward to reading it, once it get's done. I have faith in your muse's ability to catch bunnies for you :P

Ps. I love being greedy, so that works out :D

That's what's so darn frustrating about it all! It's been going on for several months now (with short breaks for sillinesses) and it's only 11,000 words! Sheesh - I mean the Lady X wrote 12,000 words in one day! (Yes - I live in Arizona, in the US, so it's not that much. grin) I will see what I can do tonight. Maybe I can push past this block and get going again ... I just don't know where to go with it, but I think what I need to do is just write now - edit later. Maybe I'll try writing about that person I mentioned who ... oh look >>> is that a jackrabbit over there? With the long ears?

Well since I live in Denmark, 11,000 means 11, so I just wanted to be sure I remember correctly about the way you do in the US ;) And how long it takes to write the words have no real connection to how good it is.

Sometimes you just have to write. You can always dump it all later if you're not satisfied, that's the beauty of writing :P Specially on a computer where all you have to do is press delete ;)

Denmark, huh? Well, then, that's 11,000 times one thousand. I guess.

Is it cold there? The closest I will ever come to Denmark is by petting my dogs. (no money to travel) I have two Norwegian Elkhounds and one Finnish Spitz. But I do adore them - except when they want to be petted and I want to type.

Yup Denmark :) Just north of the capital, Copenhagen. Money is a bitch. I would love to have money to travel and see the world!

Oh they are so cute :) I used to know a lady who had a pair, I've almost gotten late for school countless times because I stopped to pet them on the way. Unfortunately they didn't like my dog, or he didn't like them... Have any pics you feel like sharing?

Yeah at the moment it's cold, though it's getting warmer. It's just about zero degrees celcius outside at the moment. Most years our winters doesn't get much colder than that, but this year we have had snow since before Christmas and temperatures low enough that we have had frostbite warnings. I'm hoping for spring soon. I miss my bike which has been frozen all winter. Most of the lakes around here are frozen, so there are plenty of people ice skating or just taking walks on the ice.

Side note, not fic related. I was living in Denmark for the past few years while in school (dual citizen). In Roskilde.

I don't know why, but it amuses me when I see people from Denmark on LJ. None of my friends know what it is.

Roskilde is a nice town :P

I feel the same way. So few people actually knows what Denmark is, so I always find it sort amusing too when see people who know what and where Denmark is :)
